Volunteers Needed at Compassionate Hands

Compassionate Hands is reaching out to its partner churches with a spirit of collaboration. Compassionate Hands staff are currently on site and prepared to shelter in place so they can keep our doors open for neighbors experiencing homelessness during this dangerous cold.

If you can safely serve, your help is appreciated. Service is always voluntary, and they are currently operating 24 hours a day until the weather improves.

Immediate Ways Churches Can Support:

• Volunteers for short 2–3 hour shifts to assist with shelter supervision and basic hospitality

• Ice melt and help with shoveling walkways/parking lot to ensure safe access to the building

• Additional supplies, as needed, will increase if the weather persists (we are currently okay on meals, but anticipate future needs of snacks and meals that can feed up to 40)

Safety remains our top priority. We fully understand that not everyone will be able to serve during these conditions, and there is no expectation or obligation. Even sharing this need with your congregation or praying for this ministry is deeply appreciated.

Our goal is to respond responsibly and in coordination with local emergency services—offering care where we can, without asking volunteers or staff to take on unreasonable risk.

Thank you for being faithful partners in compassion. We are grateful for the church community that surrounds this work, and for the many ways you continue to support those most vulnerable during this season.
