College Hills Kids Ministry

Here at College Hills we believe that our kids are not just the church of the future but that they are the church right now. We believe that God created them each uniquely and with special gifts and talents that they can use for furthering His Kingdom no matter their age. We strive to help them discover and use these talents as they grow both physically and in relationship with Christ. It is our goal that every child who comes through the CH Kids ministry will know, feel, and see the love that our God has for each of them.

KIDCHECK is our secure check-in system for babies through kindergarten age. Parents may sign up from home by going to the website and following the instructions.


CH Kids staff are also available to help you sign up on Sundays and Wednesdays at THE ARK and printed instruction sheets are available for all parents.

Children's Worship

Children's Worship is available the 2nd and 4th Sunday morning of the month during the 8:45 worship service for children 3 years old through 1st grade. Check in at The Ark (info desk in the Children's wing) to be directed to the correct class.


Also during our 8:45 Sunday morning worship service, babies from birth until the September after their second birthday are cared for in our nursery wing. Pagers are available so that parents can be contacted when they are needed. A mothers' nursing room provides privacy adjacent to a quiet sleeping room. For children older than Pre-K, Quiet Bags are available in the Worship Center for children to use while sitting with their parents during worship. 

Nursery

Our Nursery is located on the Blue Wing in the Children's Ministry area.

 


Classes

Classes for babies are also available at 10:00 on Sunday morning and at 6:30 on Wednesday evening. Parents are invited to observe a class to see the learning activities that place. 

  • Our Honeybees class is for babies until they are walking. 
  • Young walkers are in the Caterpillars class.
  • Older toddlers are in the Butterflies class. 


Classrooms for children ages 2 and 3 are on the Red Wing of the College Hills Children's Ministry area.

  • Two-year-olds are called "Bears" in our Children's Ministry and include children who were 2 by September 30 of the previous year and will be turning 3 during the current year.
  • Three-year-olds are called "Bunnies". These are children who were 3 by September 30 of the previous year and will be turning 4 during the current year.
  • Pre-kindergarten "Dinosaurs" (children who will be in Kindergarten next school year) meet in the Green Wing of the Children's Ministry area in rooms 420 and 422 on Sunday morning and in room 422 on Sunday and Wednesday evening.

 

These children are promoted to the next age level class at the beginning of September each year. Bears will go to the Bunnies class and Bunnies will go to the Dinosaurs class.

Elementary classes

Our elementary classes meet on Sundays at 10:00 AM and on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. 


Grades 1 and 2 are in Pod 424 on the right. Grades 3, 4, and 5 meet in Pod 425 on the left.

Our sixth graders meet in the glass room at the end of the hall.

A message from Mrs. Casi

As we enter into a new year, I want to encourage you with something that has been on my heart. Though each year brings new things...new experiences, new challenges, new adventures, and new worries, one thing that we can always be sure of is that our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The same God that helped protect David with his giant, will help us with our problems. The same God who led His people through challenging or uncertain times, whether it was with a pillar of fire, a star, an angel, or His own Son, will lead us with His Holy Word and Spirit. The same God who created our world with such creativity that we get beautiful flowers, funny insects, breathtaking seasons, and cute little baby animals also created you and He rejoices over you with singing. Let's let our goal this year be to draw so close to God, that His love can't help but overflow from us into everywhere we go and everyone we talk to!
