Grades 4, 5 and 6 meet in Pod 425 Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday evening. They participate in large group and grade level activities including praise time, Bible study, drama, and service projects.
Our sixth graders participate in a Servant Apprenticeship program in preparation for entering Youthreach. Their work is recognized and they receive a teen devotional Bible the first Sunday in June. 2010 UPDATES: Teachers Floyd and Susan Dunnavant, Anita Farmer, Chad Funke, Nicky and Kim Gregg, and Stephanie Bost, along with Children's Ministry Coordinator, Carol Locke, have made plans to begin new studies in February. On Sunday morning students will get to choose from these topics for the quarter: Digging Up the Old; Lord, Teach Me to Pray; Boy, Have I Got Problems; How to Study Your Bible, for Kids; and Off My Case for Kids. On February 14 we are asking all parents of these grades to come to class with your kids. We want you to know about their studies so you can talk about them in the car on the way home. We know that you are the primary spiritual influence for your children so we need to work together. Following classes we will have a pizza lunch so that families can get to know the other families in this pod. Wednesday nights will be center studies of evidence materials from John Clayton. Any parents who would like to share in those studies are invited to come to help and learn each week. |
