“InnerMission”
is the new name for our Wednesday night teen program.
Wednesday night, being in the middle of the week, is the perfect time to take an hour, pause from all our busyness, and reflect on what is really important.
We come together on Sundays for worship and encouragement. It’s also a good idea to come together in the middle of the week and take a mental break, much like you do when you go to a play, and enjoy an intermission between acts. In our lives, we need an intermission, as well.
At “InnerMission,” we reflect on our “Inner” lives, concentrating on the “Mission” in which we’ve been called to honor and glorify God in all that we do. We’re reminded of our spiritual side. We’re reminded of our purpose. We’re reminded that we’re not alone on the journey.
The hour that we spend together on Wednesday night is one of my favorite times of the week. We sing, pray, and hear God’s Word proclaimed and explained. We share together. We encourage. We play. It’s a family meeting time. We check in, check up, and chill out.
“InnerMission” provides a tremendous opportunity for teens to grow in faith and connect in relationship with other Christian young people. It’s a great re-fueling stop on your weekly journey. Let me encourage all our teens and families to take advantage of this opportunity each week.
“InnerMission” takes place in the Youthreach area every Wednesday from 7:00-8:00 PM. The Family Life Center and Youthreach Area are open as early as 5:30 PM for those who want to come early and remain open as long as teens want to stay around to hang out.
